Laneway Singapore 2016 promises to be the music festival all hip music kids need to be seen at – and this was doubly confirmed by the news that British hip rock outfit 1975 will headline the festival when it returns to our shores on 30th January.

1975’s classic pop sensibilities married to a shiny modern aesthetic has seen them take the music world by storm. This year has seen the band undertake a sold-out UK tour that included shows at both Manchester Academy and London’s Brixton Academy, and continued with landmark shows at the Royal Albert Hall and Alexandra Palace, and a sold-out tour across the US.

New single “Love Me” is typical of the band’s grasp of shiny 80s pop structures – an infectious slab of INXS funk-rock that promises to wiggle its way into many a hipster’s heart.
