The main plot of The Darkseid War (in the Justice League comic) continues after the diversion of standalone issues involving the statuses of Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Shazam and Luthor as new New Gods.

Despite that, nothing of real import happens until the very end of this story when one more new New God is added to the list.

Basically, Darkseid’s son Kalibak wants to kill the Anti-Monitor to avenge his dead father so he and his gang battle whatever remains of the Justice League for answers.

However, we do finally understand what Grail (Darkseid’s daughter via the Amazonian assassin Myrina) was after when she engineered the battle between her father and the Anti-Monitor.

What it means for the universe is of course the real issue for the rest of the series. An epic iconoclastic story that deserves your attention!
