Background
Catfish and the Bottlemen are an English rock band that formed in Llandudno, North Wales in 2007. Their debut album, The Balcony, reached number 10 in the UK Albums Chart.

Strengths
One of the more promising UK bands of the last decade, Catfish and the Bottlemen take on board the alternative pop-rock influences of the early 2000s and deliver energised melodic rock that connects with down to earth lyrical sentiments. Ride is a shining example of what can still be achieved with traditional guitar rock that trades on pop and country-folk styles.

Highlights
“7”, “Twice”, “Soundcheck”, Oxygen”, “Outside”.

Sounds Like
Johnny Marr, The Cribs, The Kooks, Mystery Jets.

Bottom Line
A bright hope for the return of pop-rock into mainstream acceptance – music that promises to straddle the modern day poles of pop and rock.
