ALBUM REVIEW: 50 FOOT WAVE – BATH WHITE

50-foot-wave

Background
50 FOOT WAVE is an American alternative rock band, formed in 2003. The band is fronted by singer-songwriter Kristin Hersh (of Throwing Muses fame) and backed by Bernard Georges on bass and Rob Ahlers on drums.

Strengths
Alternative rock of the highest quality. Edgy, quirky, melodic and rockin’, the music on Bath White contains everything indie rock lovers look for. The songs are centred very much on Hersh’s dynamic persona, with pathos and energy in spades.

Highlights
“Bath White”, “God’s Not a Dick”, “Ratted Out”.

Sounds Like
The Breeders, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Nirvana.

Bottom Line
For fans of 90s alt-rock, 50 Foot Wave brings us back to the times when the weird ruled the hearts and minds of music lovers. Relive those wondrous days!
