Josh Heuston and Nicole Wallace will star in Prime Video’s film adaptation of Lauren Asher’s racing romance Throttled, the project’s casting was announced in September and names Heuston as Noah Slade and Wallace as Maya Alatorre.
Prime Video’s Throttled adaptation was first reported by Teen Vogue and confirmed by Deadline, which says Amazon MGM acquired the movie rights and has set Nzingha Stewart to direct from a script by Melissa Osborne.
The plot follows Maya, who joins her brother on the racing circuit and becomes involved with rival driver Noah Slade, the central relationship in Lauren Asher’s Dirty Air series that the film will adapt, Teen Vogue reported in its casting round-up.
Deadline adds production details: Brownstone Productions’ Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks will produce alongside Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay, with Alison Small and Asher listed as executive producers.
Principal creatives are now named: Nzingha Stewart will direct and Melissa Osborne wrote the screenplay, according to Deadline’s September 18 report. The outlet also notes Wallace previously signed an exclusive talent deal with Amazon MGM, positioning her as a lead in the studio’s romance slate.
Prime Video has not announced a release date. Neither Deadline nor Teen Vogue reported a production start date or filming locations in their casting stories, and Amazon MGM’s official release schedule has not yet listed Throttled.
