Free Fiesta Latina event brings music, culture and food to Spring Lake — the Free Fiesta Latina celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Compare Foods, 1159 N. Bragg Blvd., organizers said.
El Centro Hispano NC and Compare Foods announced the Compare Fest: Fiesta Latina & Customer Appreciation in a Sept. 9 news release, describing a free, family-friendly day of live music, cultural performances, food, arts and crafts, and community resources.
The lineup named by organizers includes Dueto Los Armadillos, Stefy Gallardo, Grupo La Xpresión, Julio y Rafa, Abakua Latin Music and DJ Armando, with Takiri Folclor Latino performing traditional dances, according to the event notice reproduced by Yahoo and The Fayetteville Observer.
Vendors and artisans will offer Latin cuisine and goods on site, and El Centro Hispano said it will bring its Mobile Health Unit to share information about programs and services for local residents.
The event is free to attend; the announcement lists Compare Foods’ Spring Lake location as the venue and gives the 11 a.m.–7 p.m. schedule for Sept. 12.
Local nonprofit El Centro Hispano framed the festival as both a cultural celebration and an opportunity to connect families with resources. “When organizations, businesses, and the community work together, we can create spaces that not only celebrate our culture but also connect families with resources and opportunities,” the group said in its release.
