CFCF teases L.U.V.: new album due this year

Montreal producer Mike Silver has announced a new record under his CFCF name: L.U.V. arrives June 12 on BGM Solutions, and its lead single, “Let’s Kill Ourselves”, features collaborators Touching Ice and TECHG1RLS. The release marks Silver’s first full-length project as CFCF since 2021 and signals a fresh phase in his sound.

Silver frames the new album as an evolution rather than a retread of his previous work. Rather than repeating the approach of his last LP, he says he aimed for a mood that blends club-forward rhythms with a more refined, adult sensibility — a move toward Eurodance textures with layered production and mature songwriting.

The lead single pairs pulsing electronic beats with guest vocalists and producers, giving the track a collaborative feel that contrasts with some of Silver’s more solitary, ambient outings. The single is out now, and Silver has not yet published a complete track list for the album.

Tour dates and live plans

Silver has also announced a short run of U.S. and Canadian dates for the spring. For the California shows he’ll be joined by the duo ear (Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan); the rest of the itinerary currently lists festival and club appearances.

  • March 12 — Los Angeles, CA — Don Quixote (with ear)
  • March 14 — San Francisco, CA — Brick & Mortar Music Hall (with ear)
  • May 1 — Brooklyn, NY — Elsewhere
  • May 15 — Montreal, QC — Palomosa Festival 2026

These dates offer an early listening context for the new material, giving fans a chance to hear the album’s dance-oriented direction live before its official release.

Why this matters

For listeners tracking contemporary synth and electronic pop, L.U.V. represents a pivot: Silver is moving away from purely nostalgic textures toward compositions designed for both club floors and attentive home listening. Bringing in collaborators like Touching Ice and TECHG1RLS suggests a more outward-looking, vocal-centered approach that could broaden his audience while keeping long-time fans interested.

With the June release and spring shows on the calendar, the next few months will be revealing: how the new material translates to performance, whether additional dates or formats are added, and how the record positions CFCF within the ongoing revival of European-influenced electronic pop.
