Buffalo 8 Distribution has acquired home entertainment rights to Werner Herzog’s ‘Ghost Elephants,’ the documentary written, directed and narrated by Herzog, Variety reported after the deal was negotiated at the Toronto film market.
The arrangement pairs Buffalo 8 with Sobey Road Entertainment for the film’s home-entertainment rollout, with release dates and platform details to be announced separately, according to Variety.
Ghost Elephants was previously acquired for streaming by National Geographic Documentary Films, which announced a global acquisition after the film premiered in Venice, listing theatrical screenings and later streaming plans in 2025.
