PoP LEGENDS | NEIL YOUNG + PROMISE OF THE REAL – THE VISITOR [REVIEW]

Another year, another Neil Young album.

Backed again by the superb Promise of the Real, The Visitor delivers yet another idiosyncratic collection of Neil Young songs.

Fairly eclectic with familiar melodic ideas, songs like “Almost Always”, “Stand Tall” and “Change of Heart” will endear themselves to diehard fans without too much fuss or worry.

The opening “Already Great” is a Crazy Horse-like stomper that reflects what Young feels about the state of the USA in 2017. The somewhat corny hippie anthem “Children of Destiny” is in a similar vein.

Nothing groundbreaking here but that’s just okay.

still there’s more
