Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs reveals new EP

Dylan Brady, one half of the experimental pop duo 100 gecs, will release a new solo EP, Needle Guy, this Friday through a joint effort between his own imprint and a major label. The four-track collection marks Brady’s latest project since 100 gecs’ 2023 album and signals another shift in his post-genre production work.

The EP arrives via Brady’s independent imprint, Dog Show Records, in partnership with Atlantic, combining the artist’s DIY approach with wider distribution. Last month he teased the project with its lead single, also titled “Needle Guy,” and has kept promotion low-key but visually striking.

To preview the record, Brady shared a short video of himself DJing inside a small Piñata store. The clip intercuts material from the new EP with other dance-ready selections he’s been spinning over the past year, framing the release as part of his ongoing life as a DJ and producer rather than a traditional album rollout.

Tracklist

  • Needle Guy — 01 Throat Song
  • 02 Stay High
  • 03 Ashley (featuring Afrojack)
  • 04 Needle Guy

The third track features EDM producer and DJ Afrojack, a collaboration that widens Brady’s sonic reach into club and festival-friendly territory. That pairing underscores the EP’s blend of experimental pop textures with dancefloor energy.

For listeners familiar with 100 gecs’ abrasive, genre-mixing aesthetic, Needle Guy offers a compact look at how Brady is translating those tendencies into shorter solo statements. The release style — a brief, four-track EP promoted through a quirky DJ clip rather than a traditional press campaign — also highlights how artists are increasingly using informal, visual moments to set a tone before a release.

The EP becomes widely available on streaming platforms this Friday through Dog Show Records and Atlantic. For context on Brady’s earlier work and the contours of 100 gecs’ impact on contemporary pop, readers might revisit coverage of the group’s evolution since their breakthrough.
