For the first time since forming, the experimental duo Croz Boyce—comprised of Animal Collective members Avey Tare and Geologist—will tour the United States this September, bringing material from their recently released debut to stages nationwide. The run includes two festival appearances and closes with a New York date at Public Records, offering fans a rare chance to hear the new songs live.
Croz Boyce is the side project of Avey Tare (Dave Portner) and Geologist (Brian Weitz). Their self-titled album arrived last month and has already inspired a fresh reinterpretation: electronic artist More Eaze has remixed the track “Towson Acid”, extending the record’s experimental reach into more club-leaning textures.
Weitz explained in a press release that encountering More Eaze’s work—both solo performances and collaborations—revealed creative affinities. He said the mix of guitar, strings and processed soundscapes in her music suggested a shared direction, and inviting her into the project felt like a natural fit.
Touring marks a new phase for the pair: rather than a handful of one-off performances, this itinerary spans coasts and key regional markets, weaving in festival stops that could expose the project to broader audiences.

The list mixes intimate club dates with festival stages, so attendees should expect varied set lengths and production setups from night to night. For listeners who missed the album, the newly released remix offers an accessible entry point into Croz Boyce’s layered, processed sound.
Why this matters now: the tour represents a rare opportunity to see two influential experimental musicians present a fresh collaborative project in person. Between the album, the remix, and the live run, Croz Boyce is positioning the project for broader exposure beyond the Animal Collective fanbase.
