Meta is expanding its retail presence with free hands-on demo spaces at more than 50 Best Buy locations across the US and Canada by the end of 2026, offering customers a chance to try the company’s latest AI glasses and VR headsets in person. The 900-square-foot Meta Labs, which opened at select Best Buy stores starting in June 2026, bring the full Meta product lineup to mainstream retail, marking a significant step in the company’s push to make wearable technology accessible to everyday shoppers.
Inside each Meta Lab at Best Buy, visitors can demo the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta AI glasses, the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with their integrated display, and the Meta Quest VR headsets. The spaces feature interactive displays and hands-on activations that let customers experience the products in real-world settings.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, a centerpiece of the demo experience, let shoppers read information directly in front of their eyes from the lenses and use hand gestures to swipe or tap without pulling out a phone. These glasses now include live translation capabilities, allowing users to translate conversations in real time, and improved music listening features that let users control playback and ask Meta AI to play specific songs.
The Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses go beyond video recording to include music listening and live translation. Meta sales specialists at each location help customers find frames that fit their face shape, personality, and style, while also demonstrating the latest smartglass features.
For VR enthusiasts, the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S are available for hands-on demo, letting customers play games, try workouts, or watch movies in immersive 3D environments. This expansion into Best Buy represents a major shift in Meta’s retail strategy, moving from its earlier pop-up model to a more permanent presence in mainstream electronics retail.

The Meta Lab concept builds on temporary pop-up stores that Meta launched in late 2025 to build buzz for its AI glasses products. Those initial pop-ups in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas proved successful enough to warrant a broader retail rollout. When Meta opened a pop-up in Manhattan in November 2025, the company later converted it into a permanent flagship store with a 10-year lease, signaling confidence in the in-store demo model for driving consumer adoption of its wearable tech.
Best Buy’s 900-square-foot demo spaces represent a middle ground between Meta’s dedicated flagship stores and traditional electronics retail. The partnership allows Meta to reach customers already shopping for consumer electronics while maintaining the immersive, hands-on experience that the company has found essential for introducing complex wearable technology to mainstream audiences. By the end of 2026, customers across the US and Canada will be able to visit a Meta Lab at their nearest Best Buy to try the latest AI glasses and VR headsets without making a special trip to a dedicated Meta retail location.
