Transformers #1 back in print for 14th time: GI Joe #1 follows with seventh run

Skybound and Image have pushed several high-profile comics into additional printings this month, with the launch of the Energon Universe driving the biggest moves. The new rounds — including a surprising 14th printing for a Transformers debut — arrive in mid-September and signal continuing retailer and collector appetite for these franchises.

The most notable shift comes from the Energon launch titles. Transformers #1, the flagship of the new shared universe, will be repressed for a 14th time, while Transformers #2 is moving to an 11th printing. M.A.S.K. #2 will return in a second printing with two covers. Those reprints are scheduled for September 16, 2026 and reflect strong initial orders for the line.

  • Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 — 2nd printing; new 1:25 variant by Aco; Sept. 30, 2026

Image Comics titles are also getting second printings on September 16. Among them, Last Driver #1 sold out quickly, prompting creator Sean Murphy to acknowledge his surprise and tease a cover homage intended to boost orders. Writer Patrick Kindlon described Regicide as a collaborative effort that intensifies after its first issue, and artist Ludovic Lalliat expressed appreciation for early reader interest. On Yumi 00Ex, writer Doug Wagner said he and Hoyt Silva have been enjoying the creative process and are encouraged by retailers and readers coming aboard.

For Marvel, two title-specific moves are on the late-September calendar. A second printing of Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone #1 is listed without a revealed cover, while the Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 reprint will include a 1:25 variant by Aco for September 30. These follow-up pressings typically give shops another opportunity to meet demand for heavily ordered or sellout issues.

What this means now: additional printings are a straightforward signal to retailers and collectors about where demand is concentrated. Publishers use them to supply shops that missed initial allocations and to capture extra interest in hot launches. For readers, second (and later) printings often become the practical route to own a debut issue when first prints vanish.

Taken together, these print decisions show the Energon Universe and a handful of Image launches continue to attract strong early support — a useful indicator for anyone tracking sales momentum or planning pull lists for September.
