Are Sophia and Manon Leaving KATSEYE? A Complete Timeline of Their Hiatuses maps the group’s two most recent leaves: Manon Bannerman went on a “temporary hiatus” in February 2026, and HYBE x Geffen announced on Oct. 8, 2026 that Sophia Laforteza will resume activities the first week of January 2027.
Manon’s break was first confirmed in a Feb. 20, 2026 statement shared by the group, which said she would take a temporary hiatus “to focus on her health and wellbeing.”
Sophia announced her own hiatus in early August 2026 and the label later confirmed she would miss the European leg of KATSEYE’s Wildworld tour; Teen Vogue reports HYBE x Geffen posted that Sophia would not participate in remaining 2026 promotions as she focuses on care and recovery.
During her time away, Sophia released a solo cover for the soundtrack of the animated film Forgotten Island in September 2026, which Teen Vogue covered as a milestone in her solo work while on hiatus.
KATSEYE members have addressed fans at events while one or both members were absent; Teen Vogue documents moments when other members were asked about Manon’s whereabouts and responded that they missed her but did not confirm a permanent exit.
Neither Teen Vogue nor Variety reported any label statement framing either absence as a permanent departure; the sources describe both leaves as temporary and focused on health and wellbeing.
