It says a lot about the current state of the live music scene in Singapore that Northern Irish power trio, ASH’s display of melodic crunch last night at the Hard Rock Cafe was a rare occasion for music fans to truly rock out in an intimate setting!
There is nothing quite like the sonic assault that one experiences in a small club, add to that the ecstatic joy of singing along to pleasurable tunes but that was exactly the warm fuzzy embrace felt by the crowd last night – thanks to singer/guitarist Tim Wheeler, bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray a.k.a. ASH!
For almost two solid hours, the trio belted out the hits (“Girl From Mars”, “Shining Light”) and choice album tracks (“Lose Control”) to clearly entertain the hardcore audience.
Not only that, the casual intimacy of the venue allowed the band to go above and beyond, playing unrehearsed numbers (“Walking Barefoot”) and adding songs to their encore (“Uncle Pat”) spontaneously as well!
Kudos certainly to LAMC Productions for bringing it premiere Power Pop Rock N Roll and presenting this classic timeless rock music in a setting that delivered an almost priceless experience!
… still there’s more …
