So, in case you’ve overlooked this in the face of incessant buzz and excitement over the Batman v Superman & Captain America films, there is actually another tentpole superhero movie coming out in 2016 viz. X-Men Apocalypse.

In any other year, this would be a standout superhero blockbuster but in this year – where already Deadpool might grab the prize for biggest Fox superhero movie – the response to X-Men Apocalypse may well and truly be, ‘meh’.

This latest trailer does not help its cause too much either. I mean, is anyone at all convinced that Sophie Turner is Jean Grey? She just looks out of depth in every scene. Hopefully that’s not the case in the movie.

Sure, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) looks absolutely kickass but Apocalypse does seems under-whelming, not quite the imposing villain he is, in the comics.

Wait and see, as usual. Hopefully, the movie will not be crawling to the box office come May. Yes, we have always wanted Marvel Studios to get the X-Men back but by now, I think even Marvel would not know what to do with them. Damaged goods? We shall see.
