Unlike recent policy changes at larger publishers, Dynamite’s special-order terms stop short of the toughest restrictions while still raising the bar. Retailers interested in exclusives must commit to a 1000-copy minimum for these solicitations, and covers will go through a formal review process before approval.

The company is allowing retailers more leeway to request particular artists, but with one clear caveat: those artists have to be established professionals working in comics or illustration. In practice, that excludes casual hobbyists or staff members who draw in their spare time.
