Monza, located in northern Italy, is known as the “Temple of Speed”—the fastest circuit on the F1 calendar where drivers spend roughly 80 percent of each lap at full throttle. The track was constructed in just 110 days in 1922 and holds the record for the fastest lap in F1 history. Lewis Hamilton set an average speed of 264.362 km/h during a lap at Monza, and cars regularly exceed 350 km/h on the main straight, with average race speeds approaching 260 km/h.
Apple’s takeover of U.S. F1 rights marks a significant shift in how American viewers access the sport. The tech giant secured the exclusive broadcast partnership in October 2025, outbidding ESPN for the multi-year deal.
