We have loved Star Trek: Discovery from the get-go and in this mid-season finale, the show gives us everything we have been waiting for thus far.
Aside from the action sequences – which were exciting, excellently crafted and well executed – it was in the continued character development where the episode truly shone!
Michael Burnham gets closure for the death of Captain Georgiou, Tyler revisits his Klingon trauma, Stamets’ interaction with the spore drive takes its toll and L’Rell provides a cryptic message at the near end that raises doubts about Tyler.
And … is Lorca the most devious Starfleet captain ever? That cliffhanger ending leaves with more questions than answers but how else to get viewers stoked about the return of the series in January 2018?
