Your Honor Part 7 is the latest instalment of a ten-part drama miniseries set in New Orleans. The series is adapted from the Israeli TV series Kvodo. The premise of Your Honor concerns Michael Desiato (Bryan Cranston), a judge who has to take drastic action in order to safeguard his son Adam, after the latter kills the scion of a mob boss in a hit-and-run accident.
Last time out, Judge Desiato had landed himself into hot soup as mob boss Jimmy Baxter now believes that he was responsible for the hit and run death of his son. In desperation, the Judge compromises himself even further by promising to assist Baxter with the murder trial of the latter’s other son, Carlo.
By and large, this latest plot development takes up most of Your Honor Part 7 as the Judge’s very survival now depends on how much assistance he can provide Baxter, failing which surely his life will be forfeit. Which makes for a lightweight episode overall. It’s almost as if the series has written itself into the proverbial corner and running out of ideas to prolong the story for two more full episodes.
Which is immensely disappointing as the aforementioned plot development of Part 6 deserved much better than what has been delivered. However, perhaps the fracas that the Judge’s boss Judge Sarah Leblanc finds herself involved in towards the end of the episode is related to this? That sequence seemed out of the step with the rest of the episode.
So perhaps the question is – how does the Judge get himself out of this righteous mess? How much lower will he have to go in order to preserve his own life and that of his son, Adam. Hopefully, the last two episodes will be full of surprising plot twists to reward us viewers for sticking with the series, thus far.
… still there’s more …
