Your Honor Part 6 is the latest instalment of a ten-part drama miniseries set in New Orleans. The series is adapted from the Israeli TV series Kvodo. The premise of Your Honor concerns Michael Desiato (Bryan Cranston), a judge who has to take drastic action in order to safeguard his son Adam, after the latter kills the scion of a mob boss in a hit-and-run accident.
After the events of part 5, Judge Desiato has to deal with his dire blackmail situation and seemingly resolves it but then the Judge is now in the crosshairs of mob boss Jimmy Baxter. How the Judge wriggles himself out of this new crisis might not actually be a solution but may lead to other unintended consequences.
Adam, on the other hand, is still making bad decisions. In Your Honor part 6, he complicates an already tenuous scenario by getting romantically involved with Fia (Lilly Kay), Baxter’s daughter and of course, the sister of the young man he accidentally killed! Surely, nothing good will come out of this decision. Which is of course, the whole point.
Your Honor Part 6 clearly demonstrates that the series is keeping the tension sky high and the temperature near boiling point as our main character, Judge Desiato, learns the devastating truth that doing the ‘wrong’ things for the ‘right’ reasons really provides no real resolution of the pressing issues.
The plot brilliantly entangles all the key characters in a web of deceit, lies and violence. Significantly, one senses that there are still cards to be played by the writers with respect to the future role played by Desire, the gang led by Big Mo (Andrene Ward-Hammond).
With the final third of Your Honor still to play out, a tense and exciting denouement can be expected. Highly recommended.
