Your Honor Part 10 is the final instalment of a ten-part drama miniseries set in New Orleans. The series is adapted from the Israeli TV series Kvodo. The premise of Your Honor concerns Michael Desiato (Bryan Cranston), a judge who has to take drastic action in order to safeguard his son Adam, after the latter kills the scion of a mob boss in a hit-and-run accident.
Sad to report that rather like the disappointing adaptation of The Undoing, Your Honor Part 10 simply confirms what we have felt for most of this series – the writers were unable to develop the intriguing premise and spun off several plot treads that went nowhere. How close is Your Honor to the original Israeli TV series Kvodo? Quite close it seems. Considering that Kvodo actually had two seasons, it may explain why Your Honor concludes in a very unsatisfactory manner.

As mentioned above, the previous nine parts had several plot treads that suggested different possibilities for the story to explore. For instance, what was Desire’s planned revenge on the Baxters? Robin’s adulterous affair – how is that connected to the main plot? The fact that several supporting characters discovered the truth behind Rocco Baxter’s death – what were the consequences? None of this was resolved by Your Honor Part 10.

So it begs the question – will there be a season 2? Your Honor was billed as a limited series, a one-off but the dangling plot lines imply that there’s more to the story than what was presented here. You might argue that thematically the dramatic ending we were given is meant to suggest that justice would still be served – despite human intentions and interventions – but there is still bad taste left in the mouth when it all concludes.
Guess we will need to wait on news as to whether the story of Your Honor continues.
… still there’s more …
