Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 9 is the 19th chapter of a survival horror drama television series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. The series cross-hatches several genres successfully by combining influences from popular TV series like Lost, True Detective and every teenage coming-of-age drama out there.
The premise of Yellowjackets is as follows – 25 years ago, a high school girls soccer team were stranded for 18 months in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash. The trauma of that experience lives on with them to the present day as the darkness becomes part of their everyday lives. Thus, the narrative of the series is divided between these two eras.

Entitled “Storytelling”, Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 9 closes the second season with the shocking demise of a key character, as other plot lines are seemingly wrapped up. In the flashbacks, there is a twist of fate even as the girls claim their second victim – justifying their cannibalism as some kind of divine intervention. The question that hangs over both past and present actions – is the evil supernatural or human?
Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 9 is full of twists and turns as the remaining adult survivors viz. Lottie, Tai, Van, Shauna, Misty and Nat, appear to agree to Lottie’s idea to sacrifice one of them to the wilderness, like they did when they were lost. The season finale opens with the grisly affair of cutting and cooking the unfortunate Javi as the girls justify their heinous acts as some form of compensation for their survival – Van says as much to Travis, revelling in its primal power.
The planned intervention of Lottie never quite pans out. Callie shoots Lottie in the arm, Lisa interrupts proceedings with a shotgun and in the ensuing melee, Misty accidentally jabs Nat with a poisoned injection and she dies. Thus, inadvertently, the wilderness accepts its sacrifice, as Lottie is committed into an asylum once again. Is it a return to the status quo? Will the real story of the wilderness ever go public? Guess we will need to wait for Season 3! Highly recommended!
