Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 5 is the 15th chapter of a survival horror drama television series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. The series cross-hatches several genres successfully by combining influences from popular TV series like Lost, True Detective and every teenage coming-of-age drama out there.
The premise of Yellowjackets is as follows – 25 years ago, a high school girls soccer team were stranded for 18 months in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash. The trauma of that experience lives on with them to the present day as the darkness becomes part of their everyday lives. Thus, the narrative of the series is divided between these two eras.

Entitled “Two Truths and A Lie”, Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 5 gives us perhaps the first concrete evidence that there is a demonic presence that the girls encountered in the wilderness. Not only that but this darkness followed the girls home once they were rescued and continues to dominate their lives, 25 years later.
Yellowjackets Season 2 Ep 5 continues to reveal to us the traumatic events in the wilderness, especially with regards to factions developing which will lead to the horrific images of that first sequence of the series. Clearly Lottie plays a major role in this respect then and now, with her little “prayer club”. Misty causes Crystal’s death – albeit accidentally – her first kill, which turns her into a psychopathic murderer. Nat deals with her trauma through substance abuse, similar to Van, while Taissa’s sleepwalking persona appears to be connected to the demon.
The season so far has been a slow burn but at least the tension is building up deliberately so that the horror to come will resonate more.
