Entitled “Happy Trails”, Tulsa King Season 1 Ep 9 resolves one of the main plot treads of this first season with Dwight’s conflict with the Black MacAdam biker gang and their leader, Waltrip. After Waltrip and gang ambushed Dwight and Stacey in the previous episode, where Stacey sustains gunshot wounds, it would inevitable that the final showdown between the two gangs would come to a head.
However, before that can happen, Tulsa King Season 1 Ep 9 apparently ties up the loose end of Chickie’s feud with Dwight, where the latter basically threatens the former with fatal consequences should Chickie and cohorts not leave Tulsa. That seems to settle that, somewhat unrealistically, it has to be said as surely Chickie would have perceived Dwight’s threats as a grave insult. But we will get back to that in the next season presumably.
Wishing to repay Stacey for saving his life in the previous episode, Dwight makes a big mistake and deposits a million dollars in her bank account. Now two problems with this. One, the ease with which Bodhi hacks the ATF to drain out Waltrip’s bank account is simply ludicrous. Two, Dwight’s naivety in blatantly making such a massive bank deposit without raising suspicions seems to be totally out of character for him. Worse still, that leads to Stacey giving Dwight up to the ATF for bribery seems inevitable in the circumstances.
In the final analysis, this unhappy ending seems like a tacked on cliffhanger to keep us guessing for season 2 but there you go.
