Entitled “Visitation Place”, Tulsa King Part 4 finds Dwight confront with familial issues wherever he turns. Even as he begins to build his organisation, he is putting a new family around him where his existing family has all but abandoned him. This is cemented by Dwight saying goodbye to his dying younger brother Joe by FaceTime. A poignant moment that represents Dwight’s moving on.

Remember the attempt on Dwight’s life during his driving test? Well, Dwight catches up with his would-be killer – former gang mate Armand who believed that Dwight was in Tulsa to kill him! After they resolve their misunderstandings Dwight recruits Armand into his new family as well, ostensibly to pay off Armand’s debt to Dwight for his time in prison.

Dwight’s driver Tyson has his own family complications as his father gets involved in his business affairs with Dwight, even to the extent of doing up with Dwight’s gang as they recover items stolen by a biker gang in a turf war. Presumably, this serves as bonding time for Dwight’s new family but maybe also sets up an ongoing feud with the biker gang that will be developed later.

In the final analysis, Tulsa King Part 4 is a refreshing throwback to an age where story and characterisations were priorities, without the pandering to social justice issues so predominant in modern-day TV. Recommended!
