The Wheel of Time Season 2 Ep 4 is the fourth chapter of the second season of an American high fantasy television series developed by Rafe Judkins for Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the novel series of the same name by Robert Jordan with Brandon Sanderson. Similar to Foundation over at AppleTV+, we were of the view that the adaptation of these genre fiction classics fell well short of the source material, but despite that like Foundation, this series had been renewed for a second and now, a third season!

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Ep 4 picks up the pace well enough for the various key characters, especially with Moiraine returning to her home town on a secret mission. Back at the White Tower, Nynaeve and Edwene – together with Elayne – attempt to make a clandestine departure to aid Perrin but are prevented, rather (too) easily by Liandrin. On the road, Min is tempted by Ishamael, (formerly wrongly believed to be the Dark One) to give up Mat to him.
Whew. Yes, lots of characters and plotlines and it can be a challenge to keep all of them straight in order to make sense of the narrative. Perhaps the prolonged set-up in the first three episodes of this season were necessary to get everybody back up to speed again. Thankfully, the pieces of the jigsaw appear to be falling into place with this chapter.
At the end of The Wheel of Time Season 2 Ep 4, Rand reveals his identity as the Dragon Reborn to Selene, who in turn, is revealed to be Lanfear, another member of the Forsaken – channellers who served the Dark One, like Ishamael – before Moiraine makes a surprise appearance to save Rand. Perhaps now, the second season can truly take off?
