The Peripheral Season 1 Ep 6

Entitled “Fuck You and Eat Shit”, The Peripheral Season 1 Ep 6 seems to suggest that ponderous narrative and drawn-out dialogue is not a bug but a feature. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever to push the plot forward at all! Strangely, considering that Cherise’s polt was effectively destroyed in the previous episode, nothing relating to that incident at Research Institute with Flynee is mentioned, even fleetingly!

No doubt, The Peripheral Season 1 Ep 6 does feature its fair share of action sequences and story events, it’s just that the pacing would be left behind in the dust by a snail! In addition, new characters are introduced which is not only annoying but slows the plot considerably. In this respect, it is Cooke’s death from two episodes ago that is picked up by Met Police and Detective Aynsley Lowbeer is despatched to question Wilf and Zubov. The fact that Lowbeer is eccentric to a fault adds nothing to the story.

The Peripheral Season 1 Ep 6

Back in 2032, Tommy Constantine’s frustration continues as he tries his best to understand the mysterious circumstances he is facing. Hit-man Bob ends up with Corbell Pickett but even that does not end well. Much time is spent on Conner and his disability, and that seems to be an unnecessary character focus as we already know all there is to know about him. Waste of time.

Ho-hum. The Peripheral’s first season has been quickly losing momentum and in no time, it will grind to a halt. Please make something happen in the final two episodes! Hmmm.
