S P O I L E R S
The Morning Show Season 3 Eps 1-2 finds the folks behind and in front of the camera at the UBA network in a post-pandemic world but still confronted with relevant issues that remain critical. Blessed with a plot-packed two chapters, Season 3 shows no sign of slowing down in meeting the news issues of the day. First off, there is the threat (promise) of the network being acquired by a tech billionaire – in this case the fictional Paul Marks (Jon Hamm), based obviously on Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, there’s even a rocket launch for good measure!
However, The Morning Show Season 3 Eps 1-2 does not even dwell on that one plot point, as a internal struggle over the network’s coverage of abortion rights in Texas boils over, giving away to a massive cyber-attack that leaves much of the UBA network staff personally and professionally vulnerable. All of which dredges up embarrassing information, not to mention financial difficulties as UBA heads into dealing with the fall-out from the streaming wars. Very spicy all told and we are only at two episodes in? Wow.
The smoothness of the myriad plots and characterisations results in maximum audience engagement, it is too easy to simply slip into the groove of this new season. Kudos to everyone involved in making this possible. One of the best returning series of this fall schedule. No doubt. Highly recommended.
