Entitled “White Noise”, The Morning Show Season 3 Ep 3 continues to explore the ramifications of the UBA email leaks that has highlighted a racist email from UBA chairperson Sybil Richards concerning the hiring of anchor Christina Hunter. This controversy threatens to undermine employer-employee relations over at UBA but what most do not know is that this leak, amongst others, have been engineered by CEO Cory Ellison, for his own agenda.

Thus, The Morning Show Season 3 Ep 3 allows the series an opportunity to discuss American racist issues that continue to be very relevant in contemporary USA. Of course, the behind the scenes machinations continue as Ellison attempts to push through the sale of UBA to tech billionaire Paul Marks. Ever the opportunist, Ellison hoped to weaponise these leaks to make the sale a reality. But in the end, while he achieves the removal of Richards as the chair, Marks pulls out of the deal, citing UBA as damaged goods.

On the while, this episode was engaging from start to finish, giving spotlights to lesser known characters like Richards and Hunter. The episode sensitively addressed the systemic racial prejudices as baked into corporate culture and while Richards tries to make her best case to explain her casual racism, she fails because of how deeply embedded racism is in white society. A thoughtful episode. Recommended.
