Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your jetpacks and charge up your blasters, because The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 6 has dropped and the popular series continues for another thrilling season! After two wildly successful seasons, the show that introduced us to the adorable and mysterious Baby Yoda (yes, we know it’s technically called Grogu now) is returning for more adventures in a galaxy far, far away.
S P O I L E R S
Entitled “Guns For Hire”, The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 6 is a strange and wonderful chapter in this increasingly confusing Star Wars spin-off series. In the first place, our protagonist Din Djarin is no longer the protagonist as it seems the season is revolving around Bo-Katan’s actions and dramatic need. Perhaps now, she is the titular character now, who knows? Which is fine, we guess?
Anyways, The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 6 resolves in a very convoluted manner Bo-Katan’s quest to be recognised as the leader of the Mandalorians. In the previous chapter, the Armourer of the Children of the Watch declared Bo-Katan as the Mandalorian leader to unite the tribes and in this one, it is Din who rationalises to Bo-Katan’s former clansman (and women) why she is the rightful holder of the Dark Saber and thus should be recognised as the leader according to their beliefs (?) or something like that.
But what about the chapter itself? Well, it turned out to be a whodunnit for Din and Bo as the ‘dynamic duo’ investigated the mystery of the malfunctioning droids in Plazir-15 in a cameo-laden cast that included Lizzo, Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd (!) Nothing too spectacular, rather pedestrian as it turned out! But that seems par for the course in these Disney Star Wars series nowadays. Great to look at, feel-good nostalgic fan-service but ultimately empty spectacle. Take your joy where you can.
