The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 4

Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your jetpacks and charge up your blasters, because The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 4 has dropped and the popular series continues for another thrilling season! After two wildly successful seasons, the show that introduced us to the adorable and mysterious Baby Yoda (yes, we know it’s technically called Grogu now) is returning for more adventures in a galaxy far, far away.

Entitled “The Foundling”, The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 4 is the shortest episode of the season, clocking under 30 minutes! No surprise then perhaps that this chapter demonstrated all the flaws that have plagued the series thus far.

Apart from the pedestrian slow pacing, we were also thrown out of the story for a needless flashback of Grogu’s rescue from the Jedi Temple, the night of Order 66. Not that the event itself was insignificant, we question the timing. In any case, the rescuer is revealed to be Jedi master Kelleran Beq, played by Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks!) – which is again a fan-service nod to the prequels.

The main premise of The Mandalorian Season 3 Ep 4 (such as it was) involved the rescue of a young Watch member from a bird-like monster. But instead of immersing the viewer in that quest, we were given that lengthy Grogu rescue. Maybe it was an attempt at linking past events to present but it was clumsily achieved.

The ultimate rescue operation itself was boring. Nothing exciting and once more a waste of an episode. And if we understand correctly, this is the second time that the youngster has had to be saved by a monster, just in this season alone. Running out of ideas?

In the final analysis, the series has reverted to old bad habits and the story needs to get moving again. C’mon!
