Singer-songwriter Jon Lindsay’s new single “Zebulon” is quite a fresh take on power pop, jazz-soul and rock ‘n’ roll.
According to Lindsay, “Zebulon” is a commentary on racism and homophobia but from a different perspective. The lyrics never preach but attempts to present an understanding of where those prejudices originate from.
Musically, the song is a beautiful melange of various 70s rock styles and recalls Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Randy Newman and The Band simultaneously. No mean feat!
