The Last of Us Season 1 Ep 6 is the sixth chapter of the first season of an American post-apocalyptic zombie horror TV series, based on the best-selling video game of the same name. The series stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, as the duo make a dangerous trek across the dystopian American landscape seeking a cure against the fungal infection that runs through the veins of Ellie.

Plot
Entitled “Kin”, The Last of Us Season 1 Ep 6 gives a 3-month time jump from the traumatising events of Kansas City. Joel and Ellie are still on the road searching for Joel’s brother Tommy. The duo are warned against traveling beyond the “river of death” and what we are presented with is an extended bonding time for Joel and Ellie with the backdrop of gorgeous landscapes as the scenery.
Inevitably, the duo are discovered by the townspeople of Jackson – a safe gated community reminiscent of similar scenarios in The Walking Dead. And yes, Joel is reunited with Tommy, who is about to become a father. Joel has several panic attacks, convinces Tommy to take Ellie to a nearby Firefly enclave but soon changes his mind. The duo the enclave abandoned (yet again!) and are accosted by raiders where Joel is stabbed and the episodes ends with him collapsing.
Characters
As the episode title suggests, The Last of Us Season 1 Ep 6 is all about how Joel and Ellie are slowly but surely becoming family to each other. This is demonstrated clearly when Joel changes his mind concerning Ellie being taken by Tommy and when Ellie confesses her ties to him. Joel himself is overcoming the trauma he suffered when losing his daughter Sara but ironically when he is ready to open his heart again, everything goes wrong.
Observations
The Last of Us Season 1 Ep 6 is a bit transitional as once more – expectedly – the dup are not able to complete their quest. How does Ellie solve the dilemma she finds herself in?
