The Falcon and the Winter Soldier S01E06 is the finale of a six-part superhero streaming TV drama miniseries. Set six months after the events of Avengers : Endgame, the miniseries continues to expand on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (“MCU”) after the 5 year blip, and the impact this has on the world, and of course, on the superheroes themselves.

Entitled “One World, One People”, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier S01E06 resolves the Flag-smashers storyline as well as the character arcs of most of the key figures featured in the series. The outcome is fairly predictable as the Flag-smashers plan is thwarted by the designated ‘heroes’ of the piece viz. Sam Wilson (now assuming the mantle of Captain America, complete with new suit (made in Wakanda, no less), Bucky Barnes, Sharon Carter and John Walker (still dressed in his Captain America duds).

Anyone familiar with the usual fate of most MCU villains would have realised that Karli Morgenthau and her Flag-smashers would not survive the end of the series. To be described as “misguided teenager” is the ignoble conclusion to Karli’s crusade. Not the most engaging MCU villain ever, it is difficult not to escape the series’ identification of the Flag-smashers with “woke culture” – young, naive, stubborn and ultimately dangerous.
Sam Wilson, of course, has the best arc of all as he completes his journey from rejecting the shield (and the Captain America mantle) at the beginning to assuming the role by the end. Again, no surprises there and in the credits, this transformation is paid off with the series title changed to Captain America and the Winter Soldier. Nice touch!

For Bucky, he gets to come clean with his victims and their families, hopefully to get rid of his PTSD and the ghosts that have haunted him since his recovery of self. Presumably, if the series title change is anything to go by, Bucky may well remain the sidekick of Captain America in future MCU stories.
John Walker is seen linking up with the Contessa Valentina and becomes USAgent – where he appears next is anybody’s guess – but certainly, Walker has proven to be an intriguing addition to the MCU cast of characters. As for Sharon Carter, revealed to be the Power Broker, her path seems less clear. Her fall from grace seems to have been cemented in the mid-credits scene, which is a pity. However, this twist will also hopefully create interesting MCU stories down the line. Perhaps in the upcoming Black Widow movie, Armour Wars and Hawkeye series?
