The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 is the fourth instalment of the third season of an American superhero television series developed by Eric Kripke for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, it follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat super-powered individuals who abuse their abilities.

Entitled “Glorious Five Year Plan”, The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 appears to declare Homelander the victor in his masterplan to rule the world. Homelander seems to have convinced Vicky Neuman to betray Stan Edgar, her adoptive father and has murdered Supersonic as a means to control Starlight, with the Homelander threatening a similar fate for Hughie if Starlight refuses to play ball.

To make matters worse, as The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 depicts, there is dissension in the ranks of The Boys themselves, as Butcher (and Hughie) inject themselves with V24 much to the chagrin of Mother’s Milk, while Frenchie and the Female are sick and tired of the carnage that being in The Boys entails. To top it all off, the team’s sojourn into Russia to locate a Homelander-killing weapon are scuppered when instead they find Soldier Boy, well and truly alive, and possessing powers that are able to seriously hurt Supes even, as the Female unfortunately find out!

As usual, this latest instalment is chock full of superhero violence and gore, political intrigue and oodles of self-doubt and anxiety to keep the tension and engagement level high on all counts. The question is – who can stop Homelander? And why is Edgar seemingly untroubled by the turn of events – what does he have up his sleeve? Is Soldier Boy the one to stop Homelander or will he turn out to be even worse? Still so much to consider in the second half of this superb season. Highly recommended!
