The Book of Boba Fett Episode 1 is the first instalment of a science fiction action-adventure drama series, created by Jon Favreau based on George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise. The seven-part series follows the exploits of fan-favourite bounty hunter Boba Fett (from the original Star Wars trilogy) as he sets himself up as a crime lord on Tattooine, with fellow bounty hunter Fennec Shand.
The Book of Boba Fett is, of course, a spin-off of the tremendously popular series, The Mandalorian, where the winning combination of original Star Wars trilogy fan-service and nostalgia, redeemed the Star Wars franchise in the eyes of diehard fans after the debacle of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. With show-runners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni at the helm, expect more of the same Star Wars lore faithful content with The Book of Boba Fett.
Entitled “Stranger in a Strange Land”, The Book of Boba Fett Episode 1 wastes no time to give the fans what they want viz. how did Boba Fett (Temura Morrison) survive the Sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon as depicted in the first act of Return of the Jedi? Well, obviously we find out and most of this first episode shows us how Fett appeared as he did in the 2nd season of The Mandalorian – on Tattooine looking for his Mandalorian armour.
Other than that, in the present timeline, Fett and Shand (Ming-Na Wen) are seen trying their best to establish themselves as the dominant power in Mos Espa as they fend off assassins and other threats. Nothing much happens to be honest but that’s alright as the flashbacks provide enough feel good vibes to last the 30 odd minutes here.

The Book of Boba Fett Episode 1 is a great start and whets the appetite for the much anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series to be released in 2022. May the Force be with you!
