Entitled “Entombed”, The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 5 is yet another poorly written chapter in a second season that seems to have no reason to exist. The series is practically treading water now. There is barely any connection to the Star Wars universe as this boring instalment recalls the third chapter this season where the team attempted to steal Dooku’s spoils of war. Why repeat the premise?
The premise of The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 5? A treasure hunt. Unremarkable. It’s as if the show has run out of ideas already and has devolved into your run-of-the-mill Saturday morning cartoon. At least, The Clone Wars series progressed from episode to episode, from season to season, this sadly is going absolutely nowhere. What was the whole point of this anyways?
Some people have criticized the show for being too geared towards children and not having enough mature themes or content to appeal to older fans. This episode certainly deserves to be criticised as such. There is no character development whatsoever in this episode. How does it even progress the overall story arc of the series? Five episodes in and we feel ready to give up on The Bad Batch!
