The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 1 - 2

The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 1-2 are the opening episodes of the second season of an American animated series created by Dave Filoni for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, acting as both a sequel to, and spin-off from, the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 1-2 brings back our merry band of mutated clones, which now includes a teenage Omega. These initial episodes function mainly to demonstrate the character growths of Clone Force 99 as they fight to survive in a galaxy dominated by the Empire. As with the first season, this series serves as a bridge between The Clone Wars and the original trilogy, and take place around a decade before Rebels (which is roughly 5 years before A New Hope).

The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 1-2 like the previous Star Wars animated series remain faithful to the vision set out by George Lucas, of which series creator Dave Filoni is obviously a mentee. Thus, if you enjoyed The Clone Wars and Rebels, then this series is absolutely essential. There is a sense of continuity that one does not get from the live-action series like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. Considering the complete misunderstanding of what Star Wars is about found in the aforementioned series, The Bad Batch is a refreshing return to basics.

In The Bad Batch Season 2 Ep 1-2, the clones take on a dangerous mission to Serreno, the home planet of Count Dooku, in order to recover Dooku’s massive war chest, to provide them with financial security and also a means of escape from the tyranny of the Empire. The clones are unsuccessful but learn a valuable lesson that perhaps running away from the fight (i.e. rebellion) is not an option. An excellent start to a promising season! Recommended!!
