Pop band WALK THE MOON claim to be inspired by 80s bands like The Police and Talking Heads but one listen to their latest album, Talking is Hard, will make it clear that apart from taking their name from a Police song, there is no similarity whatsoever.
Actually, they remind me of crassly commercial fare like Modern Talking and Wang Chung, y’know the really shitty 80s bands. Which is fine but why can’t we call a spade a spade? This is certainly not indie rock, by any stretch of the imagination.
But of course, that’s not going to stop the horde of pop fans out there from enjoying this show when the band play in Singapore on 19th Jan 2016.

“I’m really disappointed to not be able to play these shows. The touring has been so enjoyable for me and the band and the audiences have been great everywhere. If it was about just me just being unwell I would have found a way to continue as I did when I broke my hand last year, but to not be there for one of my family is not right. Thank you to everyone for the kind messages. See you soon. Johnny. X”
All tickets purchased for February 9th show in Singapore are transferable to the new date on July 30th.
A full refund will be made through Sistic for those who cannot attend rescheduled on July 30th.

Six rock bands over two nights. Not strictly ‘metal’, more like ‘hard rock’ – the distinction I make is that there is more melodic content in these bands – Alice in Chains even has harmonies! But there’s gonna be speed, riffs and heavy heavy vibes throughout. Hope you’ve got your tickets! See you there!
Tickets available from SISTIC.
Latest update: Jason Newsted will not be appearing or performing on all scheduled February and March dates. These include Australia’s Soundwave Festival and the Singapore Rock Festival here on the 6th of March.
So there will be six bands performing over 2 nights at the festival: Korn, Rob Zombie, Black Veil Brides and Five Finger Death Punch will perform on the 5th of March while Alice in Chains and Alter Bridge will perform on the 6th.
