US punk rockers Anti-Flag makes their first appearance in Singapore on 13th December at the Aliwal Arts Centre. Singer/bassist Chris #2 took time out of the band’s busy touring schedule to answer our queries.

Anti Flag was formed in 1988 in Pittsburgh by Justin Sane and Pat Thetic. This punk rock band is well known for political activism, focusing on anti-war activism, anti-imperialism, class struggle, human rights, and various sociopolitical sentiments.

Local singer-songwriters Ciao Turtle launch their debut EP at Aliwal Arts Centre on Saturday 12 March. The duo Ciao Turtle consists of Dennis Ng and Jared Chan, finalists for SG50 The Gift Of Song competition in 2015 with their entry ‘Being Here’ and 2015 National Arts Council and COMPASS grant recipients.

Back in 2011, in a public Facebook note, singer-songwriter iNCH (a.k.a Inch Chua) criticised Singaporean attitudes toward local music. iNCH even moved out of Singapore (to the US) in order to pursue her musical career. Four years later, back in Singapore, as a packed audience demonstrates their hearty approval, iNCH is moved to tears by a post-gig video filled with expressions of congratulations, love, admiration and celebration for the launch of iNCH’s new EP, Letters to Ubin.
