S P O I L E R S
Entitled “Living+”, Succession Season 4 Ep 6 explores the new dynamic in the Royco top managements as the new co-CEOs Kendall and Roman appear to be out of control, firing on a whim and execute an ambitious plan – to tank the deal with Mattson and expand Waystar unrealistically with the launch of Living+, a new app. Throughout the first two-thirds of the episode both Kendall and Roman seem drunk on their new found power and freedom. Will it all come crashing down around them?
Succession Season 4 Ep 6 also continues the sub-plot of Shiv acting as the “girl on the inside” with Mattson. Along the way, she takes on a partner-in-crime, her estranged husband Tom. Shiv is the fly in the ointment, obviously jealous of her brothers, she does her best to sabotage their plans by conveying her inside information to Mattson. Mattson is naturally manipulating Shiv, in order to achieve his own ends. Surely this is not going to end well!
Then, there is a brilliant twist at the end. All signs point to Kendall blowing his Living+ presentation at the investors conference. Instead he kills it! For the moment, at least, Kendall is the top dog. We will see how long that lasts! A brilliant set-up for the chaos to ensue…
