SUCCESSION SEASON 4 EP 10

We dive back into the cut-throat world of media conglomerates and dysfunctional family dynamics with Succession Season 4 Ep 10 as the highly anticipated fourth season of HBO’s hit series continues. As the power struggle between the Roy family members reaches a boiling point, this season promises to be the most intense yet. With razor-sharp writing, outstanding performances, and unexpected twists at every turn, Succession continues to prove why it’s one of the best shows on television.

S P O I L E R S

Entitled “With Open Eyes”, Succession Season 4 Ep 10 concludes the series with a disappointing and boring finale. Everything you expected to happen, mostly, happened. The Roy siblings seemed to come to an agreement to vote against the GoJo acquisition and install Kendall as the new CEO. But of course, at the very last moment, Shiv changes her mind and betrays her brothers and votes for the acquisition leaving Kendall with mud on his face. Now, THAT was so predictable and ultimately safe.

After all, one just could not have had any of the Roy siblings actually succeeding their father, could they? Thereby, giving some credence to the title of the series. No, the series had to inject a dose of crushing reality – which is what it was – the Roys are consigned to the scrapheap of history as Tom becomes the new smiling face of Waystar, with the assistance of his pregnant wife, Shiv. Kendall was of course a fool to actually believe that things would go his way, when they never ever have, as far the series would allow. See? Predictable!

Thus, Succession ends with a whimper. The sight of Kendall wallowing in his misery as the sins of the Father visit his children in karmic fashion. Where’s the subversion? Where’s the twist? There was none to be had as the series chickened out. Another disappointing finale for a hitherto excellent series. Ah well.
