Latest news coming from Laneway Singapore is that Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li (above, left) has pulled out due to health reasons. Not just Singapore in fact, Li will not be playing numerous overseas festivals. In a press statement, Li said –
“I’m incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival. It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return.”
Power of Pop hopes that after seven years of touring, Li gets the break she deserves. Jon Hopkins (above, right) has been roped in as a last minute replacement. The British electronic producer/musician may not be like for like for Li but will bring his popular brand of dance music to the festival.
