Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 is the fourth instalment of the second season of an American science fiction drama television series created by Aaron Guzikowski. Famed director Ridley Scott is an executive producer on the series and directed the first two episodes of season 1. Thus, the series carries many of the genre hallmarks associated with Scott’s science fiction films especially, the Alien franchise, which we will discuss further below.
Entitled “Control”, Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 continues the trend in season 2 to keep the plot moving at a fast pace. With the constant addition of new plot elements, Raised by Wolves season 2 can either be one of the more intriguing TV series or a huge disappointment if these plot lines do not pay off by the end of the season. That all said, this episode is a pivotal one considering it comes at about mid-point of the season.
The key moment is Mother electing to challenge The Trust AI for supremacy – thus, the title – which will naturally place her at odds with the other characters. Especially when Father may have just resurrected a synthetic being capable of properly challenging Mother’s necromancer powers. Marcus and his Mithraic followers are also facing a possible leadership crisis, as his position as Sol’s prophet is threatened.
The pre-eminent theme of technology vs religion continues to inform the decisions and actions of all the characters even as the conflict between human and android still simmers below the surface. However, one concern is whether the inexplicable events in the series – attributed to Sol – will be explained by season’s end. That would need addressing if the writers are not to be accused of beginning plot lines without any idea whatsoever how they will resolve – the LOST syndrome, effectively.
Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 demonstrates that this series is by far one of the better scifi TV shows out there right now. Recommended.
