Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 3 is the third instalment of the second season of an American science fiction drama television series created by Aaron Guzikowski. Famed director Ridley Scott is an executive producer on the series and directed the first two episodes of season 1. Thus, the series carries many of the genre hallmarks associated with Scott’s science fiction films especially, the Alien franchise, which we will discuss further below.
Entitled “Good Creatures”, Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 3 continues to introduce new plot lines to maintain a high tension and conflict amongst the principal characters. In addition, ‘nothing is as it seems’ is a constant thematic touchstone in this series and stories never quite pan out the way that they appear to be. All of which is a strength provided these plot lines can be satisfactorily developed and ultimately resolved.
On a very macro level, we still have a conflict between the Atheists – represented by the Collective and the AI called the Trust – and the Mithraic followers, led by Marcus. However, our core group of characters viz. Mother and Father (the Androids), Campion, Paul and the other children – are not quite aligned with either side and tend to play both sides against each other to a certain extent. This lends unpredictability to the proceedings and keeps the viewer guessing.
Even within that subset of characters – we have Father and Mother at odds, while some of the children have their own plans as to whether to trust (sorry) the Collective at all. This keeps the viewer off-balance and unsure of which side – such as it is – to invest in. Quite unsettling but we believe that that this is the intention and the result of excellent writing. Thus, in this way, season 2 appears – at the moment – to be vastly superior to season 1.
Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 3 brings great promise for the future of the series, hopefully that promise is fulfilled! Recommended!
