Entitled “Ace in the Hole”, Rabbit Hole Ep 8 ends the series the same way as it began – full of misdirection. All of which would have been appreciated if the twists were set up well and earned but most of time, these twists are simply thrown in from out of the blue. Which is confusing and annoying, of course. Take for example, the opening sequence, which is a massive misdirection down the line and colours the way the viewer interprets what they see on screen.

Besides all that, Rabbit Hole Ep 8 also finally reveals to us the villain of the piece viz. Crowley. It seems the man has been pulling all the strings behind the scenes in ill health (!) – how is that even plausible? Despite the tone of the series being one of realism, Crowley in the end comes across like a comic book super-villain, and not in a good way. There is nothing remotely interesting about him whatsoever. Thus, the final act falls flat on its face!

And… is that a slight hint of a second season we see or just another misdirection? The latter, we hope!
