Self-styled indie folk-pop trio Moonrise Nation released their debut album, Glamour Child, yesterday on Zinc Records, a label formed by Bobby Z of Prince’s band, The Revolution.
The trio has been favourably compared to Swedish duo First Aid Kit as representative of a throwback movement of old school pop values.
The songs employ fairly standard (almost clichéd) matched with more modern singing styles but at least there is a more authentic instrumental sound throughout, which should appeal to the PoP faithful out there!
Check out the video for opening track “Common Fear” and stream the new album.
… still there’s more …
