What is impressive about Visions of a Life, the new album from Wolf Alice is its sheer eclecticism within the modern pop-rock spectrum.
Take the first three tracks – “Heavenward” is atmospheric dream pop, “Yuk Foo” is unabashed Stooges-like rock ‘n’ roll and “Beautifully Unconventional” is pop-funk of the danceable variety.
The rest of the album comfortably stays within these parameters to good effect. Which makes Visions of a Life interesting throughout.
