Peacemaker S01E07 is the seventh episode of an American superhero comedy drama streaming television series created by James Gunn for the streaming service HBO Max, based on the DC Comics character Peacemaker. It is the first DC Extended Universe (DCEU) television series, a spin-off from the 2021 film The Suicide Squad.

Entitled “Stop Dragon My Heart Around” – a witty Tom Petty reference, there you go – Peacemaker S01E07 brings characters to various violent confrontations as the main plot begins to reach its conclusion. Murn finally faces off with his alien butterfly brethren while Peacemaker (with Vigilante, John Economos and Eagly, of course) is attacked by his father White Dragon and his white supremacist gang. Along the way, Leota Adebayo confesses her true role to the rest of the team.

Thus, as you might expect with all the violent confrontations taking place, Peacemaker S01E07 is a visceral and brutal episode. But through it all, writer James Gunn still maintains the comedic level that while does not come across as slapstick is still ‘laugh out loud’ funny nonetheless. And this is due to Gunn’s witty dialogue which truly tickles the funny bone. There is always a conflict when watching Gunn’s portrayals of superheroes – you want the heroes to be taken serious and yet one cannot help but agree with the potshots that Gunn takes at these heroes!

Which essentially sets up the season finale as one epic battle of an episode as the team races to stop the alien butterflies from teleporting their ‘cow’ away. That last scene is at once bizarre and frightening – we can hope for more background from Gunn about these alien butterflies but maybe simply enjoying the mondo bizarro quality of the series is good enough?

Peacemaker S01E07 maintains the high quality of this series and certainly the much anticipated finale cannot come quick enough. Recommended!
